ASDES @ LLYS NINI
The half way stage has been passed by participants at the ‘Photographic Diary’ event organised by ASDES and held at Llys Nini Animal Rehoming Centre in Penllergaer, Swansea. The project was set up to provide opportunities for ASDES participants to engage in a monthly photographic shoot at the centre. Llys Nini is a 78 acre site with fields, ancient woodland and lots of scenic natural beauty. The opportunity is beneficial to Llys Nini in that a catalogue of images will be developed that document the changes in the natural landscape over time.
Since January over 10 participants have joined together on the last Saturday of the month to capture images that represent a variety of topics that have been set including an image to represent the month of the year. The images are outstanding in their detail as well as the thought that has gone into their production.
The monthly event has been organised by Judith Thatcher at ASDES working alongside Elanor Alun – Environmental Manager at Llys Nini. At the end of the year an exhibition of work will be displayed at Llys Nini with the images used by the centre in many of its publications and resources.
Participants were recently filmed at Llys Nini as a celebration of the positive work that is carried out at the centre. This will be aired on television in the new year. ASDES at the movies!!
Engaging in the full sensory experience participants have also met up with some of the dogs at the centre out and about on their daily walks.
